RNT modernizes Gabela substation

Sumbe - The National Electricity Transmission Network, EP (RNT) is modernizing the Gabela Substation, Amboim municipality, Cuanza Sul, with the installation of 220/60 kilovolt (KV) transformers with 60 megawatts (MVA) power against 35 MVA of the old distribution network, the company said today.

These are two 220/60 KV transformers with 60 MVA power, one 60/30 KV transformer with 20 MVA power, as well as a 30 KV Sectioning Station (PS).

The redevelopment of this unit aims to give greater robustness in the system and improve the distribution of electricity to the city of Gabela and the periphery, ANGOP learned from the head of division of substation operations of RNT in Kwanza Sul, Walter Luis Calovela

"This new substation began to be assembled in 2018 and should be completed in 2020. It costs over USD five million.
