Six laboratories for water quality control under planning

Laúca - The minister of Energy and Water, João Baptista Borges, has said that the priority for the water subsector will be the construction of six laboratories in the provinces of Lunda Norte, Malanje, Bié, Namibe and Cabinda for the product quality control.

Another priority will be the completion of the reinforcement supply from Kifangondo water treatment plant for the capacity optimization of the Southeast Luanda Water Treatment (ETA Luanda Sudeste) and the construction of the new water abstraction system of Cassaque pumping station.   

According to João Baptista Borges, who was talking in the opening of the 10th consultative council of the sector, the ministry will also throughout this year continue or complete the execution of Cabinda, Huambo e Malange new water systems.   

However, at the municipal level the focus will be the conclusion of water system construction of Jamba, Cahama, Bula Tumba, Rivungo, Lubalo, Chitato, Xá – Muteba, Cuilo, Balombo e Bocoio, Muxaluando, Landana, Muxima, Cangandala, Marimba Quela and Camucuio.

The Council, which runs under the motto “More water, more energy equal to development” is evaluating the 2019 performance and planning future actions.

The consultative council opening session was attended by the provincial governor of Malange, Norberto dos Santos.
