Speaking to ANGOP, Sayengue said that in the last six months and despite the economic situation worsened by the Covid-19 pandemic, the Center for Genetic Multiplication, created in 2007, inseminated 45 heads of cattle.

According to the director of the institution, the insemination of seven cows of the Brahman breeds, from South Africa and Bonsmara from US contributed to stimulate the production of meat and milk, taking into account the challenges of strengthening food security in the country.

In the meantime, he said that the work is not limited to the province of Huambo adding as an example the work done with breeders from Cunene province.

Sayengue clarified that insemination consists in the deposition of semen in the genital organ of the cow, after a veterinary evaluation process, embodied in the gynecological, nutritional, and animal health state.
